[ Oh he knows that reaction, and it's usually that or something thereabouts that he usually gets when he does that little whisper. The words aren't always the same, but it's always in that vicinity.

At the hand grab, he looks down, but doesn't pull away, instead giving a slight grip back. ]

Told you it works. Secret is, Nate it can never be about you, it has to be about them. And you have to mean it. You have to always mean it.

Well, it works. It really works.

[He just stares at Matt for a moment, wondering how he let things go for so long without having this. This is everything to him. He glances out of the corner of his eye and sees a cab coming, causing him to raise his free hand to get the driver's attention.]

Might end up skipping dessert after all, if you keep that up.

[ When the cab pulls up Matt opens the door like a proper gentleman, ushering Nate inside so he can give his address to the driver before following in soon after. Settling down in the seat next to him, he turns his head towards him, and reaches to take his hand once again. Not because he has to, but simply because he wants to.

Leaning his head back against the seat a little, he nods. ]

We're really doing this, aren't we.

[Nate likes the way they tend to default to holding hands right now, the way it just feels like their hands are meant to fit together.]

Seems like it. Scared?

[ He laughs, partly a bit of a nervous one. ]

Fucking terrified, mate.

[Nate gives his hand a small squeeze at that.]

Honestly? Me too.

Good. Well not good but-- At least i'm not the only one, right? I'm gonna try not to fuck this one up though. If that's okay with you.

Yeah, I think that's alright with me.

[he wants to kiss him. god he wants to kiss him, but with the driver right there, that's probably not okay.]

I'm not... You know I'm not suddenly going to be cool with everything. It'd probably be better you don't tell anyone about this. I mean fuck can you imagine the reaction if half the people you knew even knew you were hanging out with me and that's without everything else.

[ Still though, he gives his hand a bit of a squeeze, and pulls it in closer towards him. ]

I don't really care what they think. [Nate says with a shrug.] It's none of their business anyway. I've gotten a few questions about why I left Simon, but for the most part, people are too self absorbed to actually give a shit what's going on with anyone else.

People care about you, Nate. They don't want you getting fucked over. And I'd get it, I really would. If this was the other way around I'd be telling you to keep the fuck away from me.

But it's just... I don't know how well I'd do if a bunch of people knew, that's all.

I'm not going to tell anyone, Matt. Seriously. The last thing I want is to make you uncomfortable about this stuff.

I'm not uncomfortable. Do I look uncomfortable? I mean I'll prove it if you want.

[ Not that he knows how he'd do that, but he will totally do it. ]

But you would be. If people knew.

[ He glances aside, frustrated but because it's true. He hates that its true, but he knows that it is. ]

I'l work on it. It's just going to take time.

Hey... [He tugs gently at Matt's hand to try to get him to look at him again.] I'm not in any rush.

[ And look back he does, giving him a soft smile. ]

You know what your problem is, Nate. You're way too patient.

[He lets out a little laugh.]

I didn't realize that was a problem.

How do you do it? You're all cool and collected. Nothing touches you. Is it some hipster secret I'm not in on? Cus you know I don't feel cool. I feel like there's ants in my boxers and I can't stay still.

There's no secret, honest. I just... I have this feeling that things will be okay. So long as you're here, I mean. We'll figure the rest out as we go.

Well here I am. [ he gives his hand a gentle tug ]

And here you are. [ his eyes turn a little, towards the driver on the other side of the glass. he decides he doesn't care, and leans in, pressing a small kiss against his lips. ]

[It catches him off guard, but it doesn't take him long to respond, meeting the kiss and feeling his face flush a bit in response.]

And here we are. [The driver chimes in gruffly as he parks in front of Nate's flat.]

[ Matt could very easily allow himself to get swept up in that, to basically snog Nate's face off right there and then. But then they are interrupted by the driver, and Matt pulls back with a slight clear of his throat. ]

Right. Yeah. Right. [ he grabs out some cash as he get out and pays quickly through the window, before turning back to Nate ]

So. This desert.

[He can't help but smile, that blush continuing to spread over his cheeks. He just nods in response and opens his door to get out quickly. It means he has to release Matt's hand for a moment, but it's worth it to be able to get him back up to his place.]

Upstairs, yeah?

[He'll lead the way! Which puts them in an empty lift for the ride up to his floor. As the doors close, Nate takes it upon himself to be a little bold, pressing Matt against the nearest wall and kissing him. Fair's fair for surprising him with one in the car, after all.]

[ The move is unexpected, if only in part because it's still about the last thing he's used to from Nate. That isn't to say it isn't welcome though, far from it, and he finds he really kind of gets a kick from Nate showing a bit of assertiveness. There's a camera in the lift, no doubt, but Matt really doesn't give a shit if security bloke number 6 in a room somewhere wants to watch.

His hand lifts and holds at Nate's side as if to steady himself as he kisses back. Taken off guard he might have been, but he doesn't hold back, kissing him quite frankly like something out of a porn film. ]
